Good morning, reaching out to the veterans, military members, and all others wishing everyone a Happy Veterans Day. To all that are serving our great nation and to the ones who have served, thank you. To all the ones that I have served with over the years it was an honor serving with you defending our country.

When you hear Veterans Day, what do you think about or ponder on? I think about the word obedient. Our nation is standing because of the men and woman who are serving and have served. Obedient is defined as: complying or willing to comply with orders or requests; submissive to another’s will. When we served Uncle Sam, we took orders from the people appointed above us. Sometimes orders are hard to follow because we do not have all the information. There are so many members that have retired from Uncle Sam’s army that have lost their purpose or mission in life. Often, we are looking to serve others again.

Here is my challenge; how about we serve in God’s Army. God is calling on people to serve in His army. We as veterans and military members are trained to follow orders and complete the mission. God does not order us around the same way though; He want us to act in obedience to the Holy Spirit’s lead who prompts us to do things for His Kingdom.

Is there any other mission more important than to share the Good News of Jesus Christ to others, ensuring them an opportunity for forgiveness of sin by the sacrifice of blood of the lamb on the cross, securing them a place in heaven enjoying eternal life with our heavenly Father.
