Are you loud and proud with your blessings and proclamations?

One thing each of my family members has done when they have built their homes is to write bible verses on the frame of the house. I often wondered who would see them and how far down the road they would be discovered.

Joshua 24:15
New King James Version
15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of [a]the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”
This is one of those verses people love to anoint their homes with.

The pictures and art brought in normally also have Bible verses for all to see in the now, but this one is normally covered up with drywall.

I tried to find other verses to talk about this am about our bodies being temples and such and yet every attempt I made Circled me back to Joshua 24, but not verse 15.

Verse 1.
The Covenant at Shechem
24 Then Joshua gathered all the tribes of Israel to Shechem and called for the elders of Israel, for their heads, for their judges, and for their officers; and they presented themselves before God.

Wait what? Did that just say what it said?
Yes, Joshua gathered them so God could give them a message directly from the Holy Spirit that had come upon him. God spoke through man reminding them of all that He carried them through.

After God’s message Joshua commands the gathered. 14 “Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of [d]the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD!

This was not a hey ya want to? Joshua commanded his house to serve the Lord. A battle line in a family. Get in line or get out.
The gathered crowd answered him in verse 18 saying We will also serve the Lord, yet Joshua did not accept the first, He ensured they understood the consequences if they make a convent to serve the Lord and break it.

When we write verse 15 we are really telling the world We serve the Lord in this linage, get in line or get out. Do we do as Joshua, ensuring each in the household understands the consequences if they do not?

Again, many cover the inscription up with sheetrock. How odd…

Lord our prayer today is that, if we have not, that we may boldly draw the battle line in our linage and proclaim as Joshua, MAKE A CHOICE. CHOOSE A SIDE. WE STAND AS THE HEAD OF THE HOUSEHOLD AS SERVANTS OF THE LORD! Lord, prune our linage, keep the linage pure and in good faith of Your Will. May we always be Your Light across the river for those who drift away and always be ready to walk on that river’s surface in faith that God is not done yet and their decisions can change. To God be the Glory of His Grace and our hearts be tender ready to forgive as God reconciles those Called Home.

Have you dedicated your Linage and Home to Serve the Lord? If not what is stopping you? Who is your witness? Joshua used a Stone as a Witness. Want a deeper dive? Find out why in verse 27.
Special thanks to Charlie York for the reminder of the 6th book of the Bible. Order is important.
