Somehow my mother in law knew the perfect gift for me is a little book of daily devotionals. It is one of my families most used items and has been used by my grandparents, parents, uncles, aunts and cousins.
I am not aware that I ever told her about that little family secret, but God knew, and there she was with a prized gift that I truly cherished.
It is called Our Daily Bread. Often times the small stories land on just the right times in my life. Today is one of those days.
It may be payday for some of you and if you are like us, you may struggle to see how giving away what is needed to live is living. Christians call it tithing.
Sometimes giving is not in dollars but in time and other acts.
Let us give today, any way we can.
